Nimal Perera is an investor, business magnate and a leading stock market trader in Sri Lanka.

Perera has a horological passion and is a long-time savvy watch collector. He is also a travel enthusiast who keeps exploring the world.

In the early 2000s, he founded his venture capital & private equity firm NP Capital Group. The group is into acquisitions, real estate property investment, trading and portfolio investment.

He is the Chairman of NP Capital Group and its subsidiaries: DUNIMAK Private Limited and Arimac Lanka Private Limited.

Perera has sealed the most number of business acquisition deals in the history of Sri Lanka.

Nimal Perera headed the Vallibel One Group as its Deputy Chairman till 2017. During Perera’s time, the group acquired most number of its current subsidiaries which led the group to become the largest conglomerate in Sri Lanka.

Nimal Perera commenced his career at Tudor V Perera & Company and subsequently joined Bartleet Electronics Limited, Union Trust & Investments, and Sherman Sons Limited before joining Pan Asia Bank Corporation PLC.

He served as the Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Treasurer of Sri Lanka Athletic Association, Treasurer of Colombo Gymkhana Club, Director of National Youth Services Council in Sri Lanka and Chairman of Sugathadasa Stadium Authority.

He served on the boards of Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC, Lanka Tiles PLC, Lanka Walltiles PLC, Lanka Ceramics PLC, Horana Plantations PLC, Swisstek Ceylon PLC, and N Capital Private Limited as the Chairman, Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC as the Managing Director, Vallibel One PLC as the Deputy Chairman, LB Finance PLC as an Executive Director, Amaya Leisure PLC, Hayleys PLC, The Kingsbury PLC, Haycarb PLC and Thalawakele Tea Estates PLC as a Director and Vallibel Power Erathna PLC and The Fortress Resorts PLC as an Alternate Director till 2017.
